In a Monday night interview with The Post, Robinson said he had trimmed his college list to six schools, in no particular order: UNLV, Maryland, Temple, Virginia Tech, Creighton and Providence. Robinson has taken unofficial visits to Maryland, Temple and Virginia Tech and plans to see the other three before making his commitment either “right before the basketball season or right after the season starts.” On Monday, Robinson offered his thoughts on each of his final six schools:
Creighton: “That’s a good fit, also, at a good school out in the Midwest. Their program has been one of the top teams every year recently and they have a background in letting guards go and spreading the floor. Coach [Greg] McDermott seems like he’s a players coach, and that’s of course a good thing.”
Providence: “When me and Coach [Ed] Cooley started interacting, we’ve had a great relationship from the jump. The last two point guards they’ve had have scored 2,000 points and had 700 assists for their career, I believe, so that shows that they let them play and give them a lot of opportunities to make plays. That’s a good look, in my eyes.”
