If Creighton is in why is the 9 member number thrown out so much. On CBS yesterday during the halftime of the Michigan-Michigan State game they said 9 with Butler and Xavier. Why is Creighton the one that is always left off? I am not being sensitive about Creighton being left off just thinking there must be a reason.

Slow newsday.. hot topic... lets face it in the past month they have said 9-16 hell some article out there a few weeks ago said 18. Is it possible sure... will people read your article sure... does anyone outside of fox know, hell no... smart money has always been on 10 or 12 with 12 being the most rational or 10 moving to 12 in the near future. If your going to take Creighton you just take them as their MVC exit fee is pretty manageable. I think the best argument for 10 over 12 i've seen so far is the A-10 exit fee's but lets face it 6 vs 8 million in fees is not going to stop a 400 million dollar contract. Fox needs, wants and is going to get more inventory. That said last summer CUSA and the MWC actually agreed to merge into some 31 team atrocity so maybe its 9 teams maybe its a 42 team papal conference who knows.

But I assume there must something up with Creighton. You always see Butler and Xavier listed but not always Creighton. Is that on the 7s side or Creighton's side or both and why?

I don't think there's ever been consensus on Creighton from the C7 like there has been with XU and Butler from the start.

You can drop that bottom to 7, as well. Some report even said the 7 would be willing to play 1 season with no additions if it meant getting out immediately.

People think this is fluid whereas I've been told it is not. The teams were decided long ago. Nothing has changed. Lot of details and contracts to draft but the core of the decision has remained constant.

Again, this is just what I'm hearing but what the reports are saying now is pretty much what I heard a couple of months ago.

I hear the same-3 teams in for next season and UD and STL for the 2014 season-have been hearing it's been a done deal for quite some time.

CBS is functionally retarded. During the same halftime show, one of their talking half wits asked seriously if the conference would be named 'The Catholic Conference'.

Maybe they decided months ago, but that doesn't change the way it has been seen from the outside. We don't know those decision, if they were made, so it is fluid from our perspective. We aren't discussing things as though our decisions or opinions will matter, it's speculation and entertainment.
