there's fire? Lots of chatter the past several days - hopefully there is some news soon.

Richmond sort of came out of nowhere this week and now appears to be in the thick of the discussion. Plus, it sounds like 2014 is the likely start date if your believe the rumors.

I'd love for the C7 to make a statement or two just to satiate our appetites a little bit, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Richmond is willing to invest signicantly in its program to be successful. Based on our current roster, we have several very good seasons around the corner too.

Butler could restart their lacrosse team. It was ranked in the top 10 at one point in the late 90s. However, if they did that they'd probably have to start field hockey or something to balance things out for Title IX.

I am not sure that you will see the conference add all five from the Midwest. I think if it is 12 schools, one of the additions will be from the east. Richmond, VCU or someone else (Duquesne??)

Haven't heard Duquesne thrown about for a while, you get the feeling that they came off the table very early in the discussions.
Richmond is loaded w/cash, but doesn't seem to bring much else. Someone had posted a comparison of Richmond vs. VCU previously.
Balancing 6 East teams w/ 6 Midwest teams would be ideal but there aren't too many schools that "fit the mold".

Just like ODU playing Big East field hockey. Really not that big of a deal.
