9 Creighton (36)
11 Providence (43)

5 in for now, but nobody else in the bubble.

Providence in the first four as 4th team in right now.

Seems about right as a whole.

Yeah if this guy is off, it isn't by much.

Some non-BE thoughts:

-PAC12 only has 2 teams solidly in, with 3 teams in the bubble.

-ACC has 5 teams solidly in, with 4 more in the bubble. Their conference metrics were behind PAC12's last time I've checked...

-The only way A10 gets 2 bids this season is if Dayton or SLU goes 15-3 regular season and lose in the conference finals. When was the last time they ended up with no at-large?

-MWC scheduled easy as a group and ended up with a bunch of gaudy OOC records. We'll see if that pays off.

About the one bid A-10 question, the last time they had no at large teams was 2004-2005, when only George Washington made the tournament as a 12 seed after winning the conference tournament. The prior year, the conference had four at large teams (Seeded 1, 7, 10, and 11) while the year afterwards, George Washington was the only at-large team as an 8 seed but lost in the conference tournament, opening the door for Xavier to get the auto-bid as a 14 seed.

Xavier wasn't that good that year, but needless to say, there were some...opinions about earning only a 14 seed. For context, their Kenpom ranking put them at #54 and in the midst of teams with anywhere from 9 to 11 seeds.

4 teams in the NET top 30 and 5 that should be in the Tournament as of today. Pretty reassuring after our mediocre OOC. It's apparant with NET that teams can definitely make up a lot of ground during conference play if they win and do so by large margin (efficiency metrics play a major role). Their seeding may still be negatively impacted due to a poor OOC, but I'm glad that the league should still have a respectable season.

Is it too early to say that the bottom of the league can only hurt the top teams by winning any meaningful games?

if Georgetown, DePaul, Butler, St. John's, Seton Hall win games against the top 4-5 teams, that's bad for the league at this point, right?

getting that way quickly. And would add Nova to the top 4-5 teams that it would hurt- maybe even moreso for them given they need the wins right now.

That sounds like a straight up disrespect. I think Georgetown was 12 seed in 2021.

Yeah, the divide has happened very early this season. It's actually better for the conference this way, as opposed to a big number of middling teams cannibalizing each other. As Stever noted, I'd like to believe that Nova still has a decent shot at joining the top group, and a loss to Nova doesn't end up being catastrophically bad.

Oh yeah, it definitely was disrespect and just part of playing in a mid-major conference. That same year, Missouri State became the tournament snub with the highest RPI in NCAA history at #21.
