That's kinda aggressive gesture from Xavier, maybe I need to start following their twitter account. I like that Xavier has this feisty demeanor we don't really see in other BE programs, save for maybe Providence.

*edit* btw I think this is the last NIT held at the MSG. I don't know if it's been decided where it's going next season, but I think the NIT needs to reinvent itself...

What was interesting was learning that Vanderbilt had been fairly hamstrung this season with injuries. The team that showed up at the SEC Tournament (beat Georgia and Alabama before falling to Kentucky) was more of what they were hoping for this entire season.

If you happened to watch the game last night, you probably enjoyed watching Scotty Pippen, Jr. Kid was fun to watch - although he was a pain in the ass to watch as a Xavier fan.

Our inbounds play strategy was terrible at the end. How we didn't set up a heave downcourt was beyond me.

What is revealing is Jonas Hayes as a HC (interim). He has them playing well together and his substitution patterns are so much better. It is clear that Travis Steele was too stubborn and didn't accept input from his staff. That cost him his job. Apparently, he had already lost his locker room going into MSG for the BET.

The 4-year nightmare is over. Sean is on the way in. X has a chance to redeem a very little bit of this season, or at least make the failure more tolerable by winning in the Big Apple.

I really don't believe the whole "lost the locker room" bit. No doubt there was some conflict between players and between coaches and players when the team started dropping off a cliff near the end of the year. Because of the lack of substance behind the rumor of losing the locker room, it sounds like people justifiably unhappy with Steele's performance were taking such conflict and running with it. You'd hear more stories than the vague "lost the locker room" narrative if there was some sunshine to it. There's been far more stories about how well liked Steele was by his players.

Steele was too rigid with which players he trusted in games, and his players seemed to play too tight as if they were worried about making mistakes. It wasn't working out and the switch to Miller makes me happy. We don't need vague stories when Steele's performance speaks volumes.

Apparently this is the final year that the NIT Final Four is being held at MSG.

That's a shame. The NIT should be at MSG. Thought I had heard that it's been there since 1938???

Heard Hinkle as one possible place that it could go. That'd be pretty cool IMO.

Looks like the Xavier game next Tuesday scheduled for 7pm. The title game on Thursday would also be at 7pm if Xavier can win on Tuesday.
