Pretty wild ending. The fact that we have won 5 straight basically playing no backups and today losing O’Connell also is a credit to coach Mac.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Gutsy wins today by Providence and Creighton.

with a team that is so different from the type of team that he usually has to boot. He won't get coach of the year consideration this year, but he's done a whale of a job.

I was at the game so maybe I missed something, but what happened to kolek? Even my wife asked where the little white guy was.

GG, Jays. You all have our number this year.

I hope we get matchup #3 in the BET.

Not having your point guard in at that moment is puzzling, to say the least.

Lewis, Morsell and Kolek combined for 13 TOs. Kolek *only* had three.

Creighton defensive strategy was to not let MU pull Kalk away from the basket so CU players chased their guy off butt screens all day leading to pretty much unlimited 15 foot two pointers. Mac talked about this in his presser. This led to wide open looks for MU mid-level which they made at a good clip but few CU fouls as they weren’t challenging the shots worth a damn. Wide open elbow J’s R Us.

In my book, this led to lots of one on one ball using MUs more athletic lineups with Kolek’s game not translating well to that style. MU had relatively few assists which is Kolek’s thing. Kudos to Mac for a plan that sort of worked in that the Jays won (giving up an inordinate number of points). Kudos to Shaka for figuring out what he needed to do against that D - lots of iso. MU lost this on the defensive end, not on offense.

So the NET after today a bit of a surprise-
Providence remains #27 after 1 point OT win. Butler remains the same at #127

But in the other game-
Marquette drops from #30 to #33. Creighton goes up from #67 to #62

I guess with the 2 games I'd have expected the NET impacts to be flipped were PC drops and Butler goes up while Marquette and Creighton remain the same. Strange.
