I'm not trolling Nashville is better than every big east city except NYC, Chicago, and Philly.

Yes, any expansion should be based on barbeque.

Well I currently live in Tennessee and grew up in Milwaukee, Nashville has way more going for it. The amount of construction and development going on in downtown Nashville is insane, blows all the Midwest cities out of the water. (Except prolly chicago) Memphis NEVER go to Memphis NEVER.

I been to Nashville twice this year. (Back in Jan 2021 a week after the x-mas bombing, and once again for the foiled Bonnaroo festival in September). Both times were a lot of fun and definitely the city is booming. In 9 months I noticed the difference. So many high-rise hotels all over the downtown and midtown area. Broadway is alive starting at 11AM which I found really awesome with every bar playing live music all day and lots of folks everywhere. Even for the NYC kid not into country music the city can be a lot of fun. The riverbank and bridge is a nice walk. I also found Centennial Park and the actual-scale Parthenon (visited the real one back in 2010) replica absolutely amazing and my favorite part of the trip - esp. the Goddess of Athena sculpture inside. Point being that the city indeed does have a lot to offer and I recognize that you are not trolling at all. The Athens of the South and today known as Music City.

Back in that January road-trip I visited Savannah, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Pittsburgh. The cities that had the most life despite the pandemic where (1) Nashville, (2) Savannah, and (3) Pittsburgh. Louisville, Cincinnati, Atlanta, and Columbus where pretty much ghost towns.

Louisville broke my heart as is one of those cities you can tell is struggling economically - beside Churchill Downs and Louisville Slugger Factory I don't think there is anything there worth doing. Cincinnati was shut down due to the pandemic but it still has a solid downtown core large enough to keep it afloat so I know it must be a decent city under normal conditions, but you can tell its heyday are long gone as there isn't much new construction going on. Columbus is anchored by the state government and Ohio State and looks like a thriving city

With all that said - Belmont is not the way to go and I don't think the Big East heading south is the way to go either. I like the current Northeast/Midwest urban big city vibe of the Big East and I hope they can add another strong program in the region in the future (I know... Creighton is technically not Midwest)

You hit this one on the head. Louisville has fallen behind Cincinnati, Nashville, Columbus, and Indianapolis.

St Louis BBQ is terrible. I tried their top 2 spots. The brisket tastes like it's corned beef cooked in a crock pot and the ribs... just no. Have had better BBQ in Phoenix, and Milwaukee
