May I ask an honest question why the A-10 attendance figures are posted. It seems to serve no purpose other than for you to grandstand why Dayton should be in the Big East.

addendum- This is a thread about rankings which you started posting about before converting it into a post about attendance before switching it to A-10 attendance.

ArmyVet – there are two answers to your honest question. The first is to provide context to the Big East attendance figures. To wit:

4,402 • St. John's
3,126 • DePaul

3,491 • George Mason
2,799 • Davidson
2,133 • UMass
1,984 • Duquesne
1,744 • La Salle
1,496 • Saint Joseph's
1,131 • George Washington
688 • Fordham

If I just posted the Big East figures, DePaul’s average home attendance would look really bad. But comparing DePaul’s attendance with A10 attendance makes DePaul’s attendance look much, much better. St. John’s attendance of 4,402 is pathetic, but is a lot better than Fordham’s 688 per game. Context.

The second reason is that although the Big East is in the same peer group as the P% conference schools in terms of basketball prowess and national prestige in basketball, the Big East is more similar to the Atlantic 10 in terms of geographic footprint, conference composition (a mixture of Catholic, private, and public institutions), enrolments, endowments, and competition for HS students looking for a college education in the East and Midwest.

ArmyVet – please note that 2021-22 Attendance Rankings are 2021-22 rankings, and therefore on-topic on this thread.

Dayton was drawing more than 10,000 fans per game ten years before the Big East was formed. Dayton’s attendance is no big secret. Get over yourself.

I guess they didn't beat Butler by enough in their first game back in over two weeks.

He seriously has no idea of how inconsequential VD is in the scheme of things, but it is rather funny witnessing him make a fool of himself on this board.
