Cole just dribbles out of control and forces contact.

UCONN got robbed against MSU and maybe WVU, but they were really fortunate tonight. That inbound play was going nowhere but SJU player knocked it out of bounds...

Congrats Nova. Jay Wright is special. Enjoy him for as long as you have him.

p.s. thank God I did not officially post “kitty kitty“.

It was actually a really good game if we ignore from about 13:00 to about 4:00 in the first half.

Still can't believe a couple of the mistakes that Nova made yesterday after they get the huge lead. The 2 backcourt violations where it was a bad pass. Those kind of mistakes are just ones that I'm not used to seeing Nova make at all. And it's not young guys making those mistakes.

Agree with you Stever... Head scratchers for sure... Particularly Daniels and slater with crazy mistakes. Slater is still hurt, can tell he is not as explosive as before (his ankle is pretty swollen). Daniels does not do well with a lot of D pressure on him, which is strange given how long he has played.

BTW, Samuels had an absolutely horrible game. Apparently tried to play through a hip injury and man, it did not work. fouled out with 0 points. Gillespie had a lot of points but he didn't shoot well to get them (except on the foul line). To me it was Moore and Dixon that saved the day. Dixon's development is pretty remarkable and he is a force. Can't jump a whole lot, but he is a force!

As a team, Nova still struggled shooting wise. Xavier's defense had something to do with that, just like Nova's did with X's shooting, but still. One thing, last night both teams were ridiculous from the foul line.

Dixon looked good last night in part due to Freemantle playing like Dylan Painter. Travis Steele has a decision to make regarding Freemantle. The guy has very little value on a team that has multiple scoring options.

Things you wouldn't have expected to read in January when he was picked all Big East preseason in October:

Keep in mind that Freemantle is coming back from a foot injury, and it wouldn't surprise me if he isn't 100% right yet, mentally. That being said, his defense was suspect last year too. The way I see it is that Xavier's ceiling lies with Freemantle playing well, so he has to get some run right now. But, he has a shorter leash because of the increased options around him.
