Don't put that evil on us! Xavier only played one game in over a month last year. That one game was against Butler. The superstitious part of me fears history repeating itself.

We've had some clunkers against DePaul in the past few years. That's not what this is. This DePaul team has a long way to go but they are not bad.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Nice win Marquette. Glad we got you guys when we did because you’re on a roll now.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

It’s kind of amazing how well DePaul plays ooc and then completely collapse in conference play almost annually.

Better than the other way around. I think Depaul will atleast be higher than Butler and Georgetown when all is said and done.

You would really hope so. don't think DePaul would fall enough to get behind Butler and Georgetown with just losses- and wins that would push Butler and Georgetown up would hurt the conference.

Right now it's-
DePaul 104
St John's 108
Butler 136
Georgetown 192

Fun game, DePaul at Marquette.
Another good win for MU.

The miked-up coaches were exhausting but great. I couldn't believe Stubblefield was able to keep up his intensity for two hours. I liked Shaka's style and good connection with his players.

I expected more swearing and more working the tefs, but for the most part they were chill.

You'd kind of guess they know they're miked up and therefore kind of on their best behavior.

Being fully vaxxed and boosted doesn't seem to matter with this current/dominant strain. My daughter is both but she caught it, tested positive and is now in quarantine. Her symptoms are mild because of the vax but she still is contagious to others. Some PC players could be in a similar situation.

Yeah...the number of teams affected, not just BE but countrywide, suggests that fully vaxxed and boosted teams are getting the bug. Not sure if CU got lucky last year but I'd be surprised if we don't get hit with a pause this year. This strain seems super contagious but less severe. So i'm not gonna cast aspersions at other teams without any facts relative to vax status or unhealthy protocols.

I agree with a poster (either this board or the CU) that CU and PC should have played when both had opponents go on pause. CU vs DePaul on Dec 20 and PC vs Georgetown on Dec 22. Someone at league office should have said, "youse guys need to get a game in because this thing is gonna be around all year."

EDIT: I've been reminded that we did not make it through last year without a pause. We had to pull out of OOC tourney because of COVID...we just didn't miss any conference games because of it.
