yeah- if Shaka had just fouled on purpose there up 3 in the 1st OT, Marquette is on a 3 game winning streak right now with DePaul up next.

Marquette has one hell of a stretch coming up though. 7 straight KP level A games...

Think it may be the toughest 7 game stretch any team has in the conference this year(err, looked and DePaul has a tougher 9 straight KP level A game one- just started and goes thru Feb 5).

Kudos to Nze for being a gamer. Tough kid.

Xavier: little to no rust was evident. Played well overall. Kunkel wins the gold star on the forehead tonight.

Nice going into the zeppelin hanger and bagging the W while clearly hearing Xavier fans cheering on TV.

Games all ended earlier tonight so NET gets updated...
Xavier 20 to 20
Butler 141 to 146

Marquette 55 to 45
Georgetown 157 to 190

Marquette in a week has gone from 83 to 45. One heck of a week they have had.

You guys are a key brand in this conference.

When the C7 was putting together this version of the Big East, I recall your president being an integral piece of that process.

The Thompson regime obviously put Georgetown on the map in a big way, but it is time to move on. Georgetown should clean house and start over with fresh, young coaching talent.

I love and adore Patrick Ewing and always will. I will never think less of him after these 5 years , but it’s over . Year 5 and they aren’t any better then year 1. JTIII had them in the sweet 16 in his 2nd year.

Can’t help but wonder if they made a huge mistake firing JTIII to begin with. Yes losing in the tournament to teams with a 13–15 seed sucked snd will always suck but at least he made the tournament . Never in my life would I have thought that Georgetown would be the absolute worst team in the conference and they have been for almost 7 years. Makes me sick to be honest

But beat my Jays twice and won the BE tournament, the “real” championship, right?!? And beat Syracuse! Give him a raise!

Seriously Tho, I’m glad there is actually a GT fan out there who actually cares. GT, DePaul and St. John’s all have huge problems with their entire programs, and yes, the #1 problem has been your coaching hires.

The problem is JTIII didn't end losing to teams with a 13-15 seed. Georgetown his last 2 years was 15-18 and 14-18 overall and 7-11 and 5-13 in Big East play. I think they were absolutely right in firing JTIII, but they should have done what they should do this year and go in an entirely fresh direction and not be beholden to the past.

Winning the BE was fantastic last year no doubt . It was the most excited I had been in years . Of course getting blown out in the first round stung . It was great to notch an 8th championship and proud of all the players but idk if you have noticed….there’s barley anyone on the team from last year .
