From Ross Dellinger on Twitter:
The Big 12 is finalizing plans to restore its policy deeming COVID-impacted league games "no-contests," sources tell @SINow . Would eliminate forfeits.

If a team doesn’t have available 6 scholarship players & 1 coach, game would be no-contest or the teams will work to reschedule.

Several other conference medical groups/ADs - including Pac-12 & SEC - are exploring changing their policy as well in light of latest COVID surge, sources tell @SINow

NCAA bball committee may also need to examine its minimum number of required games (25) to advance to NCAAT.

Saw Adam Silver was on ESPN and he said over 90% of the cases in the NBA right now are Omicron. Wonder if that number matches College Hoops.

Also looked at Women's hoops- some 25 women's games already cancelled/postponed today. So it's not just the men's teams at all.

Just saw the ACC has voted to change the rule to eliminate forfeits.

Would guess it's just a matter of time before the Big East does the same.

Plenty of leagues are rescinding forfeited games. Will be interesting to see what the Big East does.

From Jeff Borzello:
The Missouri Valley Conference has opted to keep its forfeit policy in place, sources told ESPN. If a team is unable to compete, it will forfeit the game.

From Matt Norlander:
Sources: NCAA held a call today w/ medical advisory panel and membership re: Omicron. At this stage there is no change in policy about quarantine length (10 days) for the vaccinated/boosted BUT there is hope the CDC guidelines will soon change. When it does, NCAA will follow suit

This probably has more to do with foootball right? I saw that Nick Saban tested positive. What if a CFP team couldn’t play?

I think it has to do with both....

I hadn't heard Saban tested positive but 2 of his assistants did. I also heard some stuff going thru Georgia right now.
