Louisville 58
DePaul 72

Demons should get a decent boost with it being on the road.

Sorry but again, help us out here. Are you referring to the SMU and GT transfers? Both have lots of experience but nothing on paper to get excited about. Then there's the local Chicago prospect. He appears to have the talent to move the needle some, but he has eligibility issues (academic?). Might be a redshirt candidate.

Regardless, which team/teams would you predict they could finish ahead of in conference?

Years of failed optimism and false hope under JLP and her disastrous hires. Peevy comes in and hires Stubblefield in one year. Turns things around immediately. Insanely incredible hires all around. Bravo.

Seeing DePaul play at that level in Louisville reminded me of the true OG C-USA days. Love to see it.

Congrats, Demon. What a feeling it must be for all the DePaul guys tonight. Huge win (and biggest in years).

No doubt, on the road makes it special but the Rutgers win is much more impressive considering recent events. If the Demons manage to win @ NU it will be one helluva OOC run for sure. Either way, they are already guaranteed to give the BEast a nice bump.

Don't really want to be the turd in the punch bowl here, but DePaul really needs to catch Creighton on an off night to open their Big East schedule. If they do, a home conference opener is a very good possibility....they should be favored to win. If not, there is real possibility that they won't be betting line favorites again this year. That opening 17 week stretch is absolutely BRUTAL.

Rutgers win was at home by 3, and their NET is #160
Louisville win was on the road by 7, and their NET is #58

Louisville win is much more impressive across all metrics. Rutgers is worse than St. John's was a few years ago when we started 0-11 in the Big East and then upset #4 Duke and #1 Villanova in the same week. Unless Rutgers dramatically improves then they'll remain a fluke bad loss for Purdue. We'll see what happens on Sunday.

Just having some depth would "move the needle" at least a little bit.

I don't think Bynum will be gone the entire season. Coach Stubblefield has said that he expects Bynum to be one of the best freshmen in the conference.

Yor Anei actually kept us in the Loyola game with his rim protection/rebounding.

Tyon Grant-Foster started our season opener and scored 9 points in 15 minutes before leaving the game.

Javan Johnson is an Iowa State transfer who should gain eligibility any day now. Probably not a star, but again... it'd be nice to be able to take some of these kids off the court occasionally without having to change entire schemes or force one player to pick up the offensive slack.

Based on what you've seen from both teams this year, what makes you think DePaul needs an off night to beat Creighton?

Demon, congrats on the big win! I know it has been a long time coming for relevancy. What fantastic hires in the AD and coach... good for you.

Man, you're eager to thwart DePaul getting some well-deserved hype. From what they've shown so far playing only 7 players for the most part, I'd have to rank them above Georgetown, Butler, and Creighton. I would think it'd be a boost for them if they can gain another solid player in the rotation.
