Seems like a 5-bid year for the league, with an outside shot at a 6th. 4 bids would mean someone faceplanted as the year went on and a situation like last year, where you're staring at the possibility of 3 bids heading into the conference tournament, would mean something went really wrong.

5 seems pretty safe to me. Marquette I think is looking at being around 10-10 in league play and with quite likely 3 or 4 OOC losses(still have @ Kansas St and home vs UCLA) will be one of those teams that is going to be right on the bubble. 18-13 or 17-14 entering BET.

I'd say right now way early...
5 teams 75%
6 teams 18%
4 teams 5%
7 teams 2%

Conference rankings-
B12 44.80
B10 72.93
SEC 76.71
BE 83.55
ACC 96.73
P12 121.17
MWC 122.45
AAC 125.27
WCC 140.50
Southern 145.80
A10 146.14
MVC 177.60

bit of a dash of reality for the WCC. And yikes A10, MVC(and of course P12)

Someone on the Musketeer Madness message board pointed out how the NET rankings don't appear consistent with the metrics they list as factors. For example, Houston is ranked #4 in the NET and Xavier is #30, and Xavier is higher rated in every metric listed on the site. In other words, there is no set of weights that could result in a higher rating for Houston if only the listed metrics are used. Any thoughts?

Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

AP Poll (12/6):

#6 Nova
#15 UCONN
#23 Seton Hall
RV (#27) Xavier

Providence not receiving a single vote in the AP poll is absurd.

Xavier had a lot more close calls. The Adjusted net efficiency rating I think is big towards Houston. While yeah MOV is gone, your efficiency is going to still reflect MOV(if not moreso since there is no cap).

Houston #3 in the country right now in MOV.
Xavier is T78 right now.

In fairness to Texas Tech, their other 6 opponents literally have a combined record of 1-43. I mean it's not like those teams are completely winless... geez what a joke.

Adding salt to the injury, coaches have Tech ranked above X and Providence. Parrish needs to bring back his poll attack.
