UConn is hiring assistant coach Luke Murray, sources told ESPN. Terrific hire by Dan Hurley. Reunites with Murray from their days at Rhode Island and Wagner. Extremely well-connected recruiter moving closer to home. Deep ties in the region.

Now, UConn will get Bill Murray at games. Not bad for business.

Good for the Huskies. It was always entertaining having him in the Cintas Center when Luke was an assistant under Mack.

Yes and it was fun to have him at the Garden too for tournament games. He really got into the games. Wonder how he obtained such good seats?

This is interesting…..not sure what to make of it since the strength coach used to be with the Jets and was the guy who infamously tripped a Dolphins player who was running down the sideline for a touchdown…..any UConn fans with any insight?

Alosi was basically a Covid conspiracy theorist and seriously argued things such as wearing a mask shrinks your testicles...all of which were posted to his social media accounts (which have now conveniently been deleted). Me thinks that someone with those types of views wouldn't have any kind of problem breaking Covid protocols as he alleged being so against.

Ultimately, the guy wants a payday. I don't buy Hurley telling him to break Covid protocols, and unless he has a recording of Hurley doing so, I don't think a judge will buy it either. Honestly, Hurley goofed bigtime by hiring this idiot in the first place given Alosi's track record, and his contract non-renewal was more than justified. IMO the only way he wins this lawsuit is if we didn't give proper notice in not renewing his contract (ie it'd be a state of CT collective bargaining issue).

Thanks Husky for the info!

it did seem really shady and Hurley would be risking so much to circumvent the Covid protocols…..seems like a bit of a head case!

Sadly, no surprises here! This all too typically familiar and routine at Storrs. UConn seems to enjoy "stretching"/"flexing" the rules.
S&C Coach Alosi must be related to former HC K. Ollie OR this is part of the pattern of UConn's ongoing MO. Go Huskies!

That's a solid core group returning. I look for Jackson to take the sophomore leap, as he has a very good all-around game. Both he
and the team need to improve from the 3pt line. The Huskies Should Be in-the-mix for the title and top half of the standings.
