Mel, I am anxiously awaiting the announcement that Midland Lutheran is back on the mid-season slate.

At this time of the year, any news to me seems great!

Busting Brackets has put out their preseason standings for the BE. Tristan Freeman put it together.

Great write-up, breakdown, and seeding Tristan, Excellent work. However, I'd switch Xavier and Creighton position-wise. X needs to learn how to gel as a team and they have a real puzzler here this season. So many pieces, so little time, and no one to teach cohesiveness and teamwork.

#2 Creighton Bluejays. #6 Xavier (we need to learn how to win) Musketeers.

Jays will roll this season and with just a bit of good fortune will win the BEast in 2021-22.

Valid points about X. Steele is definitely on the "hot seat". We sure have the pieces but guess we'll find out if He can coach.

The Jays have some talent coming in but they'll be too young. Top 4 is Nova Uconn SHU SJU.

Lunardi has 4 Big East teams in his latest bracketology:

2. Villanova
5. UConn
8. Xavier
11. Creighton

Next 4 out: Seton Hall

Here's the full list:
1 Nova
2 X
3 StJ
4 Hall
5 Butler
6 UConn
7 CU
8 MU
9 PC
10 GT
11 The usual suspect

UConn is way too low, definitely should be ahead of the Johnnies, regardless of Champagnie. PC's returning core is too good to be ranked below blown-up Creighton and Marquette. Speaking of returning core, Butler is in unbelievably good shape with almost everybody coming back.

University of South Carolina head men's basketball coach Frank Martin announced on Tuesday a home-and-home series with Georgetown, set to begin on Dec. 5, 2021, in Columbia. The return meeting in Washington is set for a weekend matchup in December 2022.

"I can't express how excited I am to be able to play a game against a program like Georgetown, led by one of the great people in the game of basketball in Patrick Ewing," Martin said.
