UCONN joining BE: Their grade so far?

How would you grade UConn’s return to the Big East?... as a UConn fan, I love being back and I can’t wait until next year when we can actually attend games in person. Taking in consideration of the pandemic year, I give our experience an B+/A-

My only slight is that FS1 doesn’t have more of a digital presence for UConn Women, we have a once in a generation in type player in Paige Bueckers and I don’t think Val Ackerman and FS1 do enough to use that to get the women’s side of the BE promoted more...UConn Women had one of highest rated basketball games on FS1 for men or women (UConn vs. SC) and it was done without much promotion from BE or FS1...image if the games were promoted better...ESPN promotes the crap out of its ACC games...FS1 needs to catch up

Also I would like more video analysis content of BE in general of both men’s and women’s on FS1, if not on the actual TV than on YouTube/digital website. FS1 needs help recruiting via its media platform more, example Marquette Women’s team is really good and more of the league/country should know, UConn and Marquette I see as a future promotional rival on the women’s side.

Also I saw this tweet below and I can’t help but to think this has a lot to do with UConn’s return.

Is this a joke? UConn is and never was in the ACC so I find this comment confusing. Would you prefer UConn back on The Ocho or ESPN+? How many UConn games did you watch in crystal clear HD on either FS1 or Fox this year? Did you not find it refreshing that FS1 commentators actually talked about UCon instead of 24/7 Duke and UK? Are BE hoops promos during Sunday afternoon NFL games not good enough?

And that’s fine about UConn women and I’m sure they rate well with viewers in CT. The rest of the country prob doesn’t give a crap about Paige whoever. I’m sure she’s great but if eyeballs aren’t tuning in nationwide then the asset isn’t worth as much as you think, and thus not being promoted and aired. The TV people tend to know what they’re doing.

Hard to judge anything with the pandemic going on, but I think 99% of the people involved would agree that this return is mutually beneficial. A+ in my book.

But I'll say this, the timing was great for uconn men's basketball. This Uconn team would've been buried by last season's BE field.

I know the UConn Women's games that were on SNY were on the Fox Sports App. I was shocked that UConn was not on FS1 or even FS2. Very limited. UConn women do draw very well in the ratings. Yet, UConn was on FOX.

Yet, maybe scheduling was different with Covid. I would like to see UConn much more on FS1.
