2021 Big East Tournament

Really don't know what to expect today. On one hand, I feel we are so long overdue to make a deep run in the Big East tourney and dominate and hope this is the year. On the other hand, I can see it being a big letdown. Very vaguely I seem to remember like 3-4 games like this recently where we essentially needed to win to have a real shot at the tourney...and I only remember 1 game we actually won it against G'Town. So prob about 1-2 or 1-3. Whenever we seem to finally be getting hype nationally, we usually have one of those DePaul type games where we meltdown. I'm hoping the attitude is different now. I hope staff have them prepared. I hope things are different and I can be confident in this team instead of worried (past demons). We have the better team on paper, but who knows if we shoot 25% from 3 and they dominate us with their bigs all game for 500 layups. I think to have a real shot of winning this, we will need Posh to pick up right where he left off. Defense has to be absolutely animalistic.

Well, here we go. Last chance to right the ship and save the season. Not sure what's happened to SHU resulting in the miserable form over the past few weeks after such a promising start to league play, but here we are. On one hand, getting a win today is as "simple" as getting back to what had them at 10-5 in league play but clearly it's not so simple as it hasn't happened yet. The Pirates have the ability and the better team on paper, but they could say the same for 3 of the last 4 and it hasn't mattered much. Just hoping to to see a tough, focused effort regardless of the result. Not much you can do if the opponent has another one of those days with a ridiculous, way over their heads shooting %, just keep focused and keep fighting.
