Way to play Muskies! Nice W and boost for your Dance Resume.

I don't get to see games on TV down here, nor radio. I look at NBC/CBS gamestats-gameflow and review
box scores. X's defense was evidently up a notch or 2. Jays shooting % was down- due to defense or
poor shot selection...or both. Even number of fouls, but Jays horrible at the FT line (as usual). X with NINE (9)
Blocks, wow.

Congrats to the X-Men on a great win. Jays need to win out and get Butler's help.
C'mon Butler...follow suit.

GTMO,
Playing at home helped...just for the rims. No home cooking' otherwise for sure. Unfortunately you got "good Paul Scruggs" today because he can be inconsistent for some reason.

The overwhelming difference is that you got a choking dose of what X has on the horizon....Xavier youth on full display. Odom IS going to be a fricking nightmare for opposition in this league. He has be dubbed the "Down Hill Assassin" and he made a fine showing in that regard. CoJo is smooth as Woodford Bourbon, and CJ will come to visit Y'all on a regular basis soon.

Then ZFree is, already, just as good that there is in this League. He is exactly the type of young men we all can be proud of. AND I won't say you got " Kunk'd"....but close. Maybe in MSG.

First and foremost, you guys are very talented.

You could consider giving a little credit to Xavier‘s defense. It was a good game plan.

Finally, I had no idea you guys all only shot 66% from the free-throw line. That is going to make it tough for the tournament.

I never knew that either, so I checked out who takes those shots. Christian Bishop is the easy leader in attempts but is not a shooter at all, and he shoots 64%, and Damien Jefferson is the surprising one, only shooting 64% despite shooting the three well. Then Zegarowski is the only one of the decent free throw shooters that breaks 75%, so they don't really have anyone balancing that out.

Concerning the game, this is the first time that I felt like I was watching Xavier again since the multiple Covid disruptions. They just really screwed up this team, and I hope they are more locked in now after a wonderful game. I'm bummed about Nate Johnson being out for the rest of the season because of what he brings to the team but also because I really like the guy and I hate that his one season at the high-major level was cut short.

The biggest head scratcher is Ballock, third best three point shooter in school history but can’t hit free throws to save his life. X out hustled us the whole game but what was most impressive was when we made our final run and cut it to 2. I really thought X was toast. Credit Steel for the timeout and final stretch run that put it away, shows promise and hopefully will silence all his harsh critics over there on the parkway.

13 attempts is a tiny sample size. In over 100 attempts in the previous three seasons, Ballock has proven to be an effective free throw shooter. Weirdness just happens on those few attempts.
