8 YEAR TOTALS AGAINST F5

With the Marquette win over UNC last night, The Big East secured it's 8th season in a row of having a .500 or better record against the Football 5 conferences (SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12 and Pac-12). In fact, we have never had a season below .500 against this group since reorganization - sort of the Mike Anderson of conferences. This tally was started because when The Big East reorganized we were told we would never be able to compete with the major football playing schools. Here are the yearly results:

13/14 - 19-19
14/15 - 21-16
15/16 - 34-21
16/17 - 28-18
17/18 - 20-17
18/19 - 21-20
19/20 - 30-17
20/21 - 11-11

Total 184-139

Those are some nice looking numbers. Go Big East!

Wow...thanks for compiling. I figured we'd be a bit over .500 but not by that much. I think the perception is affected a lot by ESPN whom treats us like DII compared to the big football conferences. I was just beginning school at SJ when I heard the old Big East was breaking up after Cuse and Pitt left overnight. It was right when I was becoming a diehard fan too...riding high after the 2011 year for the Johnnies reinvigorated. I'll be honest I was very, very nervous over it and I thought there was a good chance we could become the A-10 or AAC and be decent but off the national radar mostly. It was honestly like the ACC losing UNC and Duke suddenly (at the time). Glad to say we had some great programs, Creighton, Xavier, Butler join us and immediately boosted us while Nova and others held our prestige nationally. It's def been a wild ride, but it's really fun sharing Big East hoops with everyone.
