Speaking of all these postponed games, Why are we not seeing these added to open dates in our official schedules? After all, it is FEBRUARY!

Here we go again. The word is that XU was cleared to play DePaul on Thursday BUT evidently DU postponed due to their University C19 protocols.

Can ANYONE here explain why the BE doesn't immediately schedule X at SHU for Thursday? The Hall's next game isn't until Sunday!
What the hell am I missing here?

There are a lot of things that go into scheduling a game. It is not very easy to take care of all the booking, planning and logistics in a matter of a day. Xavier would need to leave tomorrow night to be able to play on Thursday.

Can Seton Hall book the Prudential center? If not is Walsh Arena not booked? Can Fox sports get a crew out to NJ on Thursday to broadcast the game? Can Xavier find a charter, hotels, ground transportation in New Jersey coming off a major weather event? This is not just show up and toss the ball up.

The answer is yes to all of the above.

FS1 is already prepared to broadcast X on Thursday...just take your crew to Jersey instead of Cincinnati. Travel arrangements are pretty basic. As far as secure lodging is concerned, it's NEWARK! Plenty of available space for a Wednesday arrival and I'm sure one of the 2 venues are open.

It's MONDAY.....NO good reason to not make this happen. After all the BE just put together the Nova/GTown game on short notice....this is an identical opportunity. XAVIER NEEDS LEAGUE GAMES.

Not sure how valid it is but the rumor I've heard is that X@SHU sounds unlikely to be made up at all.

Of course, it's possible that his newly opened date for X changes that.

Don’t get too excited to plan a bunch of games in this league Xup. As Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. It’s not fun, unless your a brick shit house named Denzel Mahoney and you get punched by Theo John... you just keep playing like it was a speck of dust!

Marquette now has five consecutive conference road games scheduled. I have never seen that before for any team in any conference. Brutal.

Marquette Golden Eagles Schedule 2020-21
Thu, Feb 11 @ 5 Villanova
Sun, Feb 14 @ Seton Hall
Wed, Feb 17 @ Butler
Sat, Feb 27 @ UConn
Tue, Mar 2 @ DePaul

Breaking News: The White House announced earlier this morning (Tuesday, February 9th) that President Biden will visit Milwaukee, Wisconsin next Tuesday, marking the president’s first official trip since taking office.

Seton Hall @ Butler rescheduled for 2/24.

per Jerry Carino, Xavier @ Seton Hall seems unlikely to be rescheduled. He goes on to suggest that with too many posponed X games to make them all up, the ones that do get made up will be strategically selected to to maximze X's tournament resume.

Is nova going to end up winning the league because they’ll avoid games at UConn and both games against XU? Anyone have any honest idea what the Big East is doing to get some of these games played?

My guess is nothing. Nova at the top is probably best for Big East in their opinion.

Sounds like UConn won't be playing any make-up games. Just the games left on their schedule, per Hurley. Apparently, they tried to get one, but didn't work out.

So we officially lose home games vs Nova/Xavier and and an away game at St Johns. SMH. Val and the BE should have been rescheduling on the fly like every other major conference. There were multiple times where we were Covid-free and waiting 5-8 days between games.

This is mildly irritating to say the least. I guess I’d understand if more if the concern was major travel, but why UConn isn’t playing nova or St. John’s doesn’t make sense to me.
