Win or lose tonight I’m very proud of the Johnnies for even being in this position. This game actually means a lot to their postseason hopes and that wouldn’t have been possible without this surge they’ve gone on. They’ve earned this opportunity to go out and dramatically improve their resume and I hope they give it their best shot. Go SJU

Today I’m the biggest St. John’s fan that ever lived.

What a turnaround for the season. Embarrassing defensive efforts early on and fell into major hole. Now we finally appear to be clicking defensively. Champagnie has taken the next step as a top Big East player, Posh has gotten comfortable and no one wants any part of him, and even Cole has gained confidence. The only thing we are really missing badly is a real big or two. Imagine a Nate Watson type player on this team, and I think it could do real damage by late season. That and probably one more shot maker. Expecting a loss today obviously, but just to be playing a meaningful game that may have tourney implications for us is refreshing. Villanova simply does not play stupid and takes very good care of the ball. That does not bode well for us and we will have to be careful not to gamble too much, as they will actually make their open 3's every time and they will find their open man regularly. They will also likely try to pump fake us to death.
