Thanks for the reasoned response Xudash, and for the tempered vitriol. I'll briefly respond- and then leave it to you to have the final word.. or not as you wish.

1. Thanks for the acknowledgement that our incoming recruiting class ratings are strong.

2. UD's financial health of it's MBB is not a new phenomenon, this is generally where we have been for many years. Yes- our cash receipts this year will suffer. But it took a pandemic to do that and will be temporary. The BE is certainly a great advantage for all BE schools with your media revenue- good for you and well deserved. BTW- and I think I am correct on this- the UD Arena has 95% of its seats sold as season tickets, with a long waiting list. I believe those season tix holders voluntarily agreed to continue paying for those seats this season.

3. Your too bitter to understand this, but UD Arena is a special place. Most unbiased observers will agree:

* https://stadiumjourney.com/news/2020-st ... ym-ranking UD ranked 10 nationally, Xavier also a good showing with Cintas at 26.
* https://www.yardbarker.com/college_bask ... 48#slide_1 UD ranked 25, X at 19
* http://www.arenafanatic.com/ncaa-basket ... kings.html College BB venue overall national rankings: UD ranked 2, X with Cintas at 10

I'd conclude we both have reason to be proud of our MBB venues- would you not agree?

1. Your welcome.

2. Are you telling me that you are generating TICKET revenue this season, as opposed to LICENSING revenue. If so, then UD should be ranked intergalactically for its fan support. Do you believe that UD is the only school generating non-ticket fan revenue this year?

BTW, Xavier was in the Forbes list long before UD ever made any of these financial rankings. I recall being 17th out of the 20 they used to list (1 of 3 private schools that made it (Duke, Syracuse and X). We’ve only gotten bigger and better, thanks to the BE.

3. You actually really need to understand something, I’m not bitter about UD Arena. UD had a significant advantage with UD Arena over Xavier and the Gardens in the arena column until the year 2000 came along, though it abjectly failed to take advantage of it. It was game over then in 2000 when the Cintas Center came online.

It’s game over now. I don’t recall reading anything about Southern Cal, UVA and St. Louis visiting Dayton to check out your arena for design input. I mean after they visited the Cintas Center for that purpose. It’s been too long since I’ve been there, but one of your larger seating sections had and I assume still has bad site lines. You have an avid fanbase and you do well hosting NCAAT play-in games, but an off campus building with 1969 architecture makes those ranking lists you like to quote because of your local support, not because your renovation somehow made the UD Arena a great venue. You’re an avid UD fan, so you believe the world revolves around Dayton and UD Arena. That is your prerogative.

Overall, I’m not sure you understand just how significant the competition is in the BE day in and day out, and now imagine that with UCONN on board. You come on here, wanting people here to believe that UD is some kind of special program, and yet your program has chalked up embarrassing losses already this season. And there are no excuses! Everyone is living through this pandemic mess. You guys are famous for making excuses. You have to own a very diluted A-10 year in and year out to really be taken seriously. You aren’t doing that. Great, strong basketball programs perform both on the court and in the general ledger. Dayton remains a mid-major for very good reason.

Finally, I suspect BE fans in general and certainly the fans here have a great deal of pride in their respective programs.

Baylor looks almost unbeatable. Bears have won games against ten ranked opponents already.
The last men's D-I team to win 10 out of 11 games vs. ranked opponents was Indiana from 1974-76.

Baylor just did it.

Bears are the first team in 45 years to go 10-1 vs. ranked opponents in an 11-game span, per Elias.
