Last year for instance be beat a ranked Arizona and the year before that we beat a ranked Duke. In other words we've been helping the conference by building a strong NET and then laying over to elevate everyone else. We are VERY overdue for a win like this, and it means a ton to the fan base and program. We need to win games like this at least once a year if we want to remain relevant. Nobody wants yet another coaching reset.
If only the top half of the league wins their games, half the league will soon become irrelevant like bottom tier ACC teams (BC, Pitt). This win IMO is great for the long-term BE as a whole. UConn will obviously be fine, they have a top 10 incoming class next year. The league will only get better if the bottom half teams can remain/become competitive.

People that say that any result is bad for the league are short term thinkers. They seek immediate gratification and success. But I'm glad in basketball you gotta play the game and win it. Congrats to the Johnies for playing well today and for showing what makes this league special - no nights off, no sure wins, great quality ball from top to bottom
