Seton Hall nabs Brooklyn star Whitehead

Postby TheHall » Fri Aug 30, 2013 8:50 pm

Per Zach Braziller:

"Can confirm Isaiah Whitehead will visit Seton Hall in coming weeks. Not expected to be official."

https://twitter.com/NYPost_Brazille/status/373497416156475392

This tweet from a "Sota" beat writer highlights how major a development this is/could be (fingers/toes crossed):

"Interesting Development: Gophers recruit Isaiah Whitehead (@Isaiah_W15) to visit Seton Hall. Didn't know they were on his radar. #Gophers"

https://twitter.com/MNfanwillie/status/373524969159790592

Nice couple of weeks for WIllard, Sha & The Hall...

My dude Chris McManus over at SouthOrangeJuice.com tweeted this link from 247Sports:

http://247sports.com/Player/Isaiah-Whitehead-18784/PlayerInstitutionPredictions

They took a poll of 24 cbb recruiting beat writers to predict Whiteheads college choice. Here are the results:

Minnesota 38%
Seton Hall 29%
Indiana 21%
Syracuse 12%

But upon further inspection of the data I noticed that votes were entered between July through now. If you just looked at the entries from this month (18 total) you get:

Minnesota 39%
Seton Hall 39%
Indiana 17%
Syracuse 5%

Good ole mo' guarantees nothing, but never hurts. Come on Willard!

Wow, and if you look even closer, in the last 24 hours, Whitehead-to-Seton-Hall has gotten 6 votes, while there have been no votes for Minnesota... and 3 of those 6 Seton Hall votes are from Minnesota guys...!

I'm not a big fan of that site, but it definitely shows some awesome trends for the Hall...!

I was like- are these dude putting some kinda reverse psychology karma is the air with those SHU picks....but I found this quote in the NY Post about Whitehead's thinking on SHU:

"He is intrigued by the possibility of leading the Hall back to its glory days, as the face of the program, a source said."

Oh yeah, today Whitehead has his unofficial visit to SHU.

Whitehead had his unofficial visit at SHU on Saturday. FWIW here's some news about the visit from Zags:

On Saturday, Brooklyn Lincoln guard Isaiah Whitehead – one of the top shooting guards in the Class of 2014 — visited Seton Hall with Lincoln coach Tiny Morton. “It was great,” Morton told SNY.tv....[I] liked everything about it,” the 6-foot-4 Whitehead told SNY.tv. “It’s a great school. I don’t see why people don’t go there.”...Having now visited Indiana and Seton Hall unofficially, Whitehead will now visit St. John’s Tuesday or Wednesday".

For the record I do like that the coach said it was great given great relationship with coaches has lasting value over time as opposed to 1 particular player. Besides players always say trips went great, not coaches though....GO GET EM WILLARD!

Next visit is SJU sometime this week. Another unofficial. Not sure of his plans after that.

I believe he took an unofficial visit to Indy already. As for Minny, in his own words:

"Minnesota and Pittsburgh would also both like to get Whitehead on a visit, but he said he’s not certain where he will go after St. John’s. “I don’t know yet,” he said."
