Yeah, didn't realize it was that much. When the AAC and Big East signed their contracts back in 2013, the AAC's was for 7 years and Big East's for 12. Given those time frames we have 4 years until the TV contract negotiations will finalize.
I'm still fully expecting a revised contract before UConn's first game, however. Whether or not that comes with a significant extension is the question. Fox may not have a motivation to do that unless we agree to more years. I understand our current contract has a clause to add up to 2 teams at the same rate, but UConn is obviously a much more valuable team than the ones discussed back in 2013 (St. Louis and Dayton).

It looks like we’re going to find out how much the AAC version of UConn was worth to ESPN. Any predictions on what the AAC’s revised deal is going to be without their top brand?

This will be interesting to see. I hope we get a bump from Fox. Another interesting tidbit on how much it will cost schools to broadcast ESPN+ and ESPN3 games.
East Carolina athletics director Jon Gilbert said each broadcast will cost the athletic department around $6,500-$7,500 to hire announcers and a production crew. Multiplied by 45, that’s more than $300,000 annually spent on broadcasting games...'
What a horrible deal.
