So no, I don't think Fox is very happy at all.

The thing is, even though I've spent the last several pages going on about how FS1 never gets the critical game 7, this wasn't a great scenario for them.
For one, the score was 5-1. A blowout. Would've gotten much higher ratings if it was tied going into the 10th inning.
Also, there were a lot of good college football games on, and the weather was nice outside.
Finally, Fox would've preferred a different team aside from the Brewers being in. There are only 3 acceptable teams for the NL, and the Brewers are not one of team.
Oh, and the teams in the World Series are ok (Yankees would've been better), but they need to go to game 7.
So no, I don't think Fox is very happy at all.

No wonder the #Redsox players can’t comment on the #NLCS. No player staying at a hotel had been able to get game on their TV. Indeed, #NLCS not show on most hotels, so everything is word of mouth.
It's weird because most hotels that I've stayed at have had FS1 now. Is this still the case?
No comment on FS1 getting a best case scenario Game 7 NLCS? The ALCS you've been hyping up only went to game 5...
did you see the post above?

[sarcasm] you missed the #1 reason why this wasn't good for fox. Little thing called LeBron James home debut for the Lakers. [/sarcasm]

LOL. I'll fully agree with you about how nice it is to see 0-2 for the Lakers right now...
Actually what I said probably was somewhat accurate for the LA ratings. 15.9 in LA sounds a bit low for game 7.
Wow just saw something remarkable.... TBS with this year added in hasn't had a 6 game LCS(let alone 7 games) since 2013. 2014 ALCS, 2015 NLCS were sweeps and 2016-2018 were 5 game series. So out of a possible 35 games in the 5 years had only 23 games. Meanwhile Fox has had in those 5 years- 2014 NLCS 5 games, 2015 ALCS 6 games, 2016 NLCS 6 games, 2017 ALCS 7 games, 2018 NLCS 7 games- a total of 31 games. When you think about that- it's pretty amazing. Especially big since the games that Fox got extra are 4 extra game 6's and 2 extra game 7's. No matter what- just the words game 7 helps ratings out considerably....

one of those where it sounds good, but it's not. It's the lowest LCS game 7 ever. Even worse than in 2012 which had the misfortune of going up against only Monday Night Football and a presedential debate.
had misfortune of going up not only against LeBron's home opener, but also a major upset in college football with Purdue over Ohio St(#1 game of the weekend in college football).
very surprisingly game 1 of the WS was not good. A 10.0 rating down 2% from last year and down 21% from 2016. Worst since 2014. Didn't see that coming......

That major upset was on Fox, so for them it doesn't really matter.
Regarding Game 1, I'm not surprised MLB ratings are down. I am a big Braves fan, but I didn't tune into the World Series. It's not fun seeing the two teams with the highest payrolls in it yet again. Always more fun when there is an underdog.
MLB isn't like the NBA where people tune in to watch superstar individual players. You're not going to see a player go off for 3 HR in a playoff game like you would see LeBron take over an NBA game. The closest thing to that is the pitcher, which isn't nearly as exciting. People tune in for the teams, especially their own team.
In recent years, it was a big deal seeing teams like the Red Sox, Cubs, and Dodgers making the World Series. I personally rooted for the Red Sox back in 2004 and the Cubs in 2016. Those droughts were historic. Now, I couldn't care less about them and it's getting boring seeing them in it every year. I actually root against all of them now. It'd even be more refreshing seeing the Yankees make it, which I never thought I'd say a few years ago.
Time for a salary cap. Allow the top teams to outspend the lower teams, but put a limit as to how much they can spend.
