I wasn't the only one.....
https://golfweek.com/2018/06/17/golf-on ... -it-right/

from it
Moreover, Tiger Woods, whose presence dramatically skews TV ratings to the upside, has played in only four of those 16 rounds, making Fox’s investment in golf seem even dodgier. Sports Media Watch reported that the first round earned the highest rating since 2015 – not coincidentally, Woods’ last appearance in the Open.

As far as the viewers- the numbers for the Open and PGA have especially for the Open actually gone up some- or remianed fairly close. Last year the US Open had only 2k more viewers than the British Open or the PGA. That number could easily reverse this year.

Fox signed with USGA in August of 2013. In the 5 years prior to that- he hadn't won any majors like you said, but he had finished in the top 10 in 9/18 majors, with only 2 missed cuts(he missed 2 for injury in 2010). So I think your claim that Fox got what they expected is absolute BS. i think they were expecting Woods to do a lot better than he has. Just like anyone who would have signed would have expected Woods to not fall off the face of the earth like he has.

Stuff that happens from April-October doesn't really mean much to the Big East.

Out of those months, I'd argue October is the most relevant since it's the closest to the start of college basketball.

This year FS1 will have the NL. TBS has the AL.

Currently the AL teams would be Boston, Cleveland, Houston, WC=Yankees/Oakland. EXACTLY the same as last year (aside from swapping Oakland with Minnesota). The key is obviously if the Yankees win the WC game.

NL is looking pretty good. I think it's very important to have not just big markets, but also new markets. Currently the NL is Philadelphia, Cubs, Dodgers/Arizona (tie), WC= Atlanta/Milwaukee.

I'll just assume the Dodgers beat out Arizona since LA is the better team (better run differential and trade deadline moves). This would be a great outcome if it holds. You have two MAJOR, albeit repeat teams in Cubs/Dodgers. Then you have first timers to FS1 in Philadelphia (Nova overlap), Atlanta (big nationwide fan base due to being on TBS for decades) and Milwaukee (Marquette overlap).

As a Braves fan who grew up in Atlanta, I just want Atlanta to win it all. Regardless, looks like it will be close to a best case scenario in terms of ratings and relevancy to the Big East. Only thing bigger would be swapping the Mets with Philadelphia/Atlanta, but you'll never have a perfect outcome.

Fox must be pretty happy with all the drama going on within the NL. Two NL division ties are heading to game 163 today. The two losers will play in the WC game tomorrow.

Brewers vs Cubs (tied 1-1 in the eighth... hopefully extras)
Rockies vs Dodgers

The fifth team is my Atlanta Braves, who haven't been to the playoffs since 2013 and haven't won a series since the early 2000s.

Atlanta has the worst record of all the NL playoff teams yet gets the benefit of watching the other 4 wear each other out.
