Nova lands Top 100 guard over G'town, IU, others

2nd Top 100 get for Nova in 2014 recruiting class; 7th for the league (out of 36 who have committed thus far). So far it seems that our coaches are doing just fine selling the new league. If BE can land another half dozen or more Top 100 recruits from that class I think it would send quite a message.
Go Nova!

Congrats guys! Great pickup, for both Nova and the Big East. There's a lot of recruiting left to do, but so far so good.
As of right now, according to this list http://247sports.com/Season/2014-Basket ... amRankings (updated with each new recruit) the Big East has 3 of the top 10 recruiting classes for 2014 (#5 Georgetown, #8 Villanova, #9 Marquette). Xavier checks in at #13, with Providence at #26. Butler is one of the teams tied for #59. Not bad at all.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Again, if Georgetown, Marquette, Villanova, Xavier and St. John's/Providence can be who we know they can be...this league will be in great shape.

The great news is that top recruits are still attracted to the new Big East-we need to pull for each other to be a great conference.

This is great news. CU is late to the game with not having the pedigree to recruit these top talents until late in the season after we knew we were in the conference. I love the fact that the top guys are going to the BE knowing that it is a basketball primary conference and that bodes well for ALL schools in the BE! Hopefully, the Jays can make a late season run this year, but I believe we will be strong in going forward once recruits know about us. All in all, great for the the BE and hopefully we keep the momentum.

Update on Booth's senior season:

His school Mount St. Joe's team was picked as the preseason #1 team in Baltimore by the B-more Sun. MSJ's has another big time player in 2015 4* SF Jaylen Adams (PC recruit).

The Gaels have all the ingredients found in a No. 1 ranked team. They have a leader and go-to player in All-Metro first-team guard Booth, a four-year varsity player that does everything well. They have another standout guard in Adams...

Booth is the area’s most consistent player
and he pays as much attention to defense (he was named the BCL’s Defensive Player of the Year last season) as offense....The schedule is demanding and the BCL and MIAA are stacked with formidable teams to make things difficult for the Gaels. But -- top to bottom -- their talent, experience and continuity makes them the preseason pick as the No. 1 team.

So far MSJ's is 2-1 after losing a tough game to St. Frances (MD) 70-61, in which Booth played hurt & needed 8 stitches after the game.

"MSJ's Phil Booth had to get stitches following tonight's game. Finished the game after getting hit near the eye in the 2nd Q. Tough kid."

Here's a promo for that game which also featured a big time player for SFA in 2014 5* SF Dwight Morgan (UNLV Signee)

Booth still had 16 pts, 7 rb, 4 ast, while Morgan had 19, 12 & 2. For the season Booth is averaging 19.3 ppg & 7.3 rpg.
