I'm not saying those talks go away forever, but it's pretty hard to imagine the Big East taking an A10 team within the next year given how bad the conference is this year. That'd look even worse than taking Gonzaga. I do think the improvement for the Big East combined with the "down" (lol) Gonzaga and "way down" A10 pushes expansion further down the road. Fox had reasons for concern with our lackluster year and an ever changing landscape (immediate transfers rule and paid endorsements for athletes), but I'd be surprised if Fox still wanted expansion immediately, especially if it meant a mid-major addition.

What, you're not impressed by that Dayton juggernaut program? ;)

Back on the topic, if Seton Hall wins this weekend, their rise could be meteoric given 20 voters didn't even vote for them last week. Do we know if NET release week saw a soft "reset" in the polls in previous years?

Yeah I could see Hall moving up around 5-10 spots if they beat Rutgers. They'd deserve it.

They have 36 OOC games left before conference play(remember they have 10 later with the SEC). Of the 36, 25 are easy games and 11 are harder games.

And more importantly, they have a 38.20 vs 66.45 lead. Sure Big East has improved since Monday from 83.55 to 66.45- so improvement of 17.10 spots- but Big 12 has also improved from 44.80 to 38.20 or 6.60 spots.

I think for the Big East to get the Big 12, the Big 12 would have to come back to the pack.

Georgetown and Missouri can potentially trash their NET numbers, but yeah it's an uphill climb. It'll be funny if they lose both conference challenges and still win the NET war going away.

DePaul's NET #50 now, possibly improving as they visit a vastly overrated NET #43 Northwestern next week.

I'm glad they're not playing a tougher team than Illinois-Chicago on Tuesday night. Would have been such a trap game.

Villanova and UConn are both now guaranteed rankings on Monday. Seton Hall probably will remain ranked, and definitely would with a win tomorrow vs Rutgers. Xavier likely would get ranked with a win tonight vs Cincy. Marquette would possibly get ranked with a win vs #4 UCLA.

Would be phenomenal if we could get 4 teams ranked on Monday, especially given the big majority of OOC would be over.

How far will Arkansas and Kentucky drop?

Kentucky doesn’t deserve to be ranked at all. Just got beat at a pedestrian Notre Dame - only wins over cupcakes (and Ohio) all at home. Florida and Wisconsin should drop out, too. BE should have 4 if Hall and Xavier win their rivalry games this weekend. Heck Providence deserves to be ranked with 3 Q1 wins, but clearly getting no love from the voters.
