It seems like Pitino, by going to Iona first, is telling the Big East he’s welcome to offers. I think Marquette and DePaul were idiots not to reach out, and any other school shopping for a coach is a damn fool not to take a HOF coach at bargain prices. Talk about getting a Porsche at Yugo prices... if it’s this holier than thou attitude 09 is talking about it’s just nonsense. He’s probably going to end up in the South in the B12 or SEC and as he gets on the flight outta NY he’s going to be thinking about how stupid all those Big East schools are

Whoever courts Pitino won't have the onus of being the first to make hedonistic dive into darkness. Iona has served its purpose nicely. How often do you get a chance to land arguably the best active college bb coach in the country at a steep discount?
