It's more likely that a voter down south or somewhere midwest doesn't pay attention to Providence.

the problem is they're getting no votes at all. None of the ones from the northeast or even upper midwest giving them any credit at all.

We had a discussion at Scoutfriars about this.

PC won at Wisconsin. However, apparently Wisconsin had an injury, so the imbecile posters, if they're paying attention at all, decided that we get no props for that win.

At the same time, our top 3-point shooter AJ Reeves was sick/ hurt in our loss to Virginia... oops, we get no sympathy for that.

Texas Tech got more votes (8) than PC (zero), after we beat them. Lol. It's f-ckin bullsh-t. We need a PR propaganda campaign to wake these f-ckin pollsters up.

I know i'm preaching to the choir here, but this is an ongoing problem.

So the good thing for the league- I know I was saying something like 23 or 24 of 41 games were tough to end the OOC schedule....

Well, first 5 games 4-1. You aren't gonna win everything, but winning at that kind of clip is pretty darn good. And kind of peaking as conference play begins as well is good.

Just be prepared, Tech will get more votes next week, too.

I’m not sure how many posters use Kenpom as an input to their rankings, but Texas Tech is much better than Providence there.

I get that, and not only that but they are higher in the NET as well- TT 17 PC 35 in the ratings from today.

But PC not able to get even 1 vote? That seems pretty.... odd.

Of course, the guy who is probably happiest about it.... Ed Cooley. Got the easy disrespect card for his team at his disposal right now.

Nice NET boost for the conference today, but it's becoming blatantly obvious that destroying cupcakes is still the way to go.

KenPom is a complete joke right now as well. Texas Tech had played the 356th ranked schedule in the entire country when we played them. They were ranked 11th and we beat them. They dropped a few places. I don't know when KenPom no longer has last year stuff in there but until he does it's worthless. Same with Wisconsin, worthless.

I read somewhere that KP stops using last year''s data in January. Not positive if that's true, but frankly it should be sooner (around when NET releases).

Big East could potentially have anywhere from 1 to 5 ranked teams on Monday depending on the outcome of games these next few days. Villanova is the only lock. UConn needs to beat SB. Seton Hall needs to beat Texas. Xavier needs to beat Cincy. Marquette might get in if they beat UCLA. Providence deserves better, but I have no faith the AP voters will rank them even if they finish 10-1. That said, I'm just glad Providence has finally played a successful OOC.
