Bryce Hopkins had a very productive line last night, but Boum's 33 was so devastating to THEIR NETS, that he has to have the edge now for POY.

I couldn’t tell if this was serious or laced with sarcasm.

Kolek is going to be Player of the Year. I'm thinking that Boum, Sanogo, and Hopkins all have a chance of being unanimous first team picks.

Huh?
Boum's 33, in their house, with those shooting percentages and a 2 seed on the line? He overtakes Hopkins for POY based on that cold blooded assassin act alone. That was the BE performance of the season IMO. Don't look now, because he is only 6 points off the damn scoring title as well.

If Kolek gets the award, that's a completely different conversation.

Don't have a dog in this fight...no issues if Kolek, Boum, or Hopkins win the award.

That said, Colby shot the ball better than Boum last night. Boum shot more. Jones only had 4 fewer points but took 8 fewer shots, including 6 fewer 3s. Jones was 8-8 in the second half when PC was making their surge. That's cold blooded.

I do think Boum is the glue...the missing piece that X needed to pull that roster together.

I feel it’s a forgone conclusion that Kolek is winning POY.

I’m interested to see if Gibson can get honorable mention recognition. I think he deserves it.

I don't see any way to keep Hawkins and Kam Jones from getting top honors. If true, this becomes a delightful log jam. Xavier has 4 of the top 15 BE scorers.....they could easily land 2 spots. Isn't Bryce Hopkins a no brainer? Does the level production among the BlueJay stars keep them from landing a spot? What do you do with HUGE numbers guys like Soriano, Spears or Kolek? Is it possible that POY Sonogo doesn't make it?

Here goes-

POY- Bryce Hopkins
Souley Boum
Jordan Hawkins
Kam Jones
Zach Freemantle
Ryan Kalkbrenner

I would come across as a complete "fanboy" if I added Colby Jones....but he STARS for any team in the country!

I know I know......
The answer key-
Hawkins UConn
Sanogo UConn
Kalkbrenner Creighton
Kolek Marquette
Hopkins Providence
Boum Xavier
