Apparently there is a report that the school might've paid off a student that he assaulted. If that's true, this probably becomes a greater NCAA issue with sanctions and more. Could get really really ugly.

This cannot actually be happening, right:

Other allegations reported by Stadium, which talked to more than 30 current and former members of the program, include Marshall body-shaming a player who is now dealing with anxiety and depression; Marshall making "Indian howling noises" and telling Isaiah Poor Bear Chandler, who is of Native American descent, "to get back on his horse"; Marshall telling Colombian center Jaime Echenique he would be "a great coffee bean picker"; and Marshall telling Erik Stevenson that he was "afraid of brothers, guys raised by their grandparents eating PB&Js."

Wichita State saw a mass exodus from its basketball program last spring, with eight players initially entering the transfer portal. Morris Udeze ultimately returned to the Shockers, but Asbjorn Midtgaard (Grand Canyon), Grant Sherfield (Nevada), DeAntoni Gordon (Northwest Mississippi Community College), Noah Fernandes (UMass), Stevenson (Washington), Jamarius Burton (Texas Tech) and walk-on Tate Busse all departed.

Yikes. If the school does let him go then they'll probably still hire someone solid given his current salary, but seems like a bad situation no matter what they decide to do.

If I were a betting man, I think Marshall does not get fired.

I'd say the deafening silence out of Shockerland since this hit pretty much confirms your statement.

Marshall OUT at Wichita State!!! Meanwhile, in Storrs CT an energized fan base exhales slowly and reminds itself that the 6 year nightmare is over.

The AAC might be starting to regret taking them now. No football program and the strength of basketball going forward is very much in doubt...

One thing they do have going for them is the Koch money that is backing the program. They should be able to get a good up and coming young coach. Like someone else said, they should be bad in the short run but may be able to recover. They do have a rabid (though delusional) fan base that would be very attractive for someone to make a jump up in the coaching ranks.

I've often seen Creighton fans point to WSU being delusional. Can I ask what started that? Examples? I mean since winning the 2011 NIT they've got a sweet 16 and Final Four, have moved up a level in conference and sent more than a few players to the NBA. They aren't a blue blood or anything but that's certainly success over 9 years worthy of bragging a bit about.
