I'm going to Chile (Patagonia) in April. Everything has been booked for months. My mother is telling me not to go.....

We canceled a cruise that we had scheduled. Not getting stuck on a boat if something breaks out.

My wife was supposed to be in Japan for work (she's in the travel industry), as we speak. She cancelled for same reason...less concerned about getting sick. Very concerned about involuntary quarantine.

I'm going to Kuala Lampur for a wedding, then Singapore, Cambodia, and Vietnam with a decent layover in Tokyo. Still going to go. If I get stuck over there because America won't take me I'll use my Irish passport to be brought back to England like the last Irish guy.

On another note I'm glad I haven't booked my hotels yet because I'm expecting rates will be dirt cheap

Scheduled to visit TSMC in Taiwan in two weeks. TSMC has for all practical purposes, stopped allowing visitors. We're doing our meetings via video conference instead. Will be hugely ineffective, we should just postpone it. Yesterday employer issued a morratorium on all travel to about a dozen countries and almost all fo the countries in the Pac-Rim are included. I visited Intel this week and upon entry all visitors have to answer a series of questions about where they have been recently. Intel employees are being asked not to attend conferences and in some cases have canceled their participation in speaking engagements. A number of companies we work with are asking employees to work from home for two weeks after they travel.

I am sitting on a plane right now as I write this and the flught is 75% full. I was with a co-worker yesterday who flew from Copenahagen to the US and he said it was the emptiest international flight he has been on in 25 years. My connecting from SFO back to Raleigh laves in a couple hours, it will be interesting to see what SFO is like. The United SFO-RDU flight is almost always 100% full and today is no different. Going forward this will likely impact what I do. I am supposed to go to Israel soon and had considering going in two weeks since my Taiwan trip is off but now I am not sure. It would not surprise my if my employer put a moratorium on international travel. My guess is will see it within two weeks is the pace of reported cases keeps up with what has transpired this week.

I don't envy those of you traveling abroad because of the increased scrutiny and hassle you will encounter. It's already stressful for most of us dealing with international routes and going through customs, but this could add a very thick layer of additional delays.

Concerned that my fledgling portfolio is getting hammered, but not too worried about it otherwise. I do live in Seoul it's gonna take months for this to settle down in this country. Not traveling overseas for a while.

Any extreme precautions being taken there?

Has anyone else managed to keep their heads above water so far with their portfolio? I invested in some biotech companies right before two announced the testing of the vaccine and that offset major losses in the two ETFs I'm in on

Not sure what I'd call "extreme" at this point. A lot of employers are letting employees work from home. All evidence points to this being spread by a religious cult, and several thousand of its members are still unaccounted for, but so far it's been centered in the southeast region of the country. Not too bad, but for those of you in the states, I'd strongly advise against traveling to Asia. Japan's being criticized for not really testing anyone outside of Diamond Princess & people directly from Wuhan (they don't want the Olympics canceled).

I was planning to go to the US for the NCAAs (St Louis). I am taking a wait n see approach now
as the US is now affected by CV. Depending on where CV spreads and how rapidly, I may just watch on tv again.
