Look for Xavier and Butler to get official invites at the meeting and unless they decide to go with Creighton next year too, they will play with 9 teams and a 16 game conference schedule. They will move to 12 when they can decide which two to take from Richmond, Dayton, and St. Louis, but that will definitely not be decided by next week. It might not be decided any time soon.

I think that it might have been more like a non-compete . Something more like we will pay you 5 million to not challenge our right to play at MSG.

Granted this is all just speculation on my part. Don't quote my number and i have not reviewed any of the pertinent contracts. Its just based on my knowledge on contracts and negotiations plus the information i have gathered on the what the deal is worth it is what i would have done or suggested to my clients.

Obviously if any of the facts change you could easily come up with a different conclusion. If you have access to any of these facts... you have been holding out on the board and i request that you divulge any facts that you know ASAP.

I have no contacts in any of this, I'm just a mathematician of sorts.

The bolded part is something I would guess on, too. A protection plan regarding MSG would make sense.

Math.... without excel i am useless.

nah i don't then anyone knows... even if all the teams are picked and they are going to 42 they won't announce until the BEFBS and C7 deal is done. So were are waiting till then. I'm just guessing on the MSG thing although now that i think about it its another reason to go to 12. MSG i think has a clause that it can cancel the agreement if the BE has drastic changes. With 12 teams in the conference you get more games in the conference tournament and therefore more revenue for MSG. They may move quickly to 12 to appease the MSG board.

-on a side note i just now thought of this and have yet to consult my oatmeal or back it up with any internet rumor or craigslist personal... take it for what you will.
