The Big East Baseball Coaches Poll was released today:

Preseason Coaches’ Poll
1. Creighton – 32 points (2 first-place votes)
2. Seton Hall – 31 (2)
3. St. John’s – 29 (3)
4. Xavier – 21
5. Georgetown – 12
6. Butler – 11
Villanova – 11

Looks like it's expected to be very much a 3 horse race with Xavier possibly forcing their way into the mix as well. I know pretty much nothing about the new schools in terms of baseball, but it makes sense that Creighton would be pretty good being in Omaha and all. Seton Hall and St. John's have both consistently been competitive lately, combining to win 3 of the last 4 Big East Tournament Championships (SJU-2010, 2012; SHU- 2011).
Seton Hall Pirates
Big East Tournament Champions: 1991, 1993, 2016
Big East Regular Season Champions: 1992, 1993, 2020

Is the Big East tournament in Omaha?

MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY. Home of the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York-Penn League (Rookie, Short Season). The Conference is the host, although St. John's may certainly feel like a home team.

Waiter: "Mr. McGuire, that is a cull lobster. Sometimes when the lobsters are in the tank, they fight. This one lost a claw."
Al McGuire: "Well then take this one away and bring me the winner."

Baseball standings so far.

School W-L Pct. W-L Pct.
Creighton 8-1 .889 23-13-1 .635
St. John's 7-2 .778 27-15-0 .643
Xavier 7-2 .778 23-18-0 .561
Seton Hall 6-3 .667 31-9-0 .775
Butler 4-8 .333 16-26-0 .381
Villanova 3-9 .250 12-28-0 .300
Georgetown 1-11 .083 15-25-0 .375

Unfortunately, looks like a 1 bid league w/Seton Hall as an outside shot for an at-large.

For the Big East fans who aren't familiar with NY, MCU Park is in Coney Island and behind the fence is a boardwalk and then the Atlantic Ocean. The NY Mets class A team plays their minor league ball there. That big tower off to the right behind the outfield fence , that's the famous parachute drop. After WW2 there was a lot of interest in airplanes and they built that tower and people would go to the top and float down in a parachute. It was an amusement ride. They had a mishap one day and closed it down and it's been standing there since WW 2. Early in WW2, German U boat 123 passed right by Coney Island and watched ferris wheels spinning around and roller coasters. They sunk 2 ships off Long Island the previous 2 nights. If you come and see the Big East tournament there, theres plenty of fun in the area. Amusement parks, aquariums, a beach and Nathans. In the old days they had shooting galleries but obviously they closed them down in NYC.

Jays came back to win the suspended game from last night so the final game of the series will determine the BIg East champ and the top seed in the tournament.

Down 11-10 with one out in the top of the ninth, senior Brad McKewon lined his fifth hit of the game through the left side. Sophomore Ryan Fitzgerald was hit by a pitch to set the stage for Peter. After taking a first pitch strike, Peter blasted a fastball over the right field wall. It was the first runs allowed by St. John's closer Joe Kuzia as he entered the game with a 0.00 ERA in 33.2 innings.
